MVP Network Consulting Completes SOC 2 Type II Examination

BUFFALO, N.Y. — MVP Network Consulting has completed its SOC 2 Type II examination.

The independent review looked at how the company’s security controls were designed and whether they held up over the full review period. A SOC 2 Type II exam is different from a point-in-time assessment: it checks that controls work day in and day out, not just that they exist on paper. For MVP’s clients, that’s the point. The security practices the company documents are the ones its teams actually follow.

Why this matters

Companies rely on technology more than ever, and they’re taking a harder look at any vendor with access to their systems, networks, data, and users. Completing a SOC 2 Type II examination shows MVP applies the same discipline to its own operations that it recommends to clients.

“We spend every day helping our clients strengthen their security, reduce risk, and make better decisions about their technology. We believe we should hold ourselves to that same high standard,” said Ikram Massabini, CEO of MVP Network Consulting. “Completing our SOC 2 Type II examination gives our clients another level of assurance that security is built into how MVP operates every day, not simply something we recommend to others.”

The examination covers the controls behind every service MVP provides — managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, Microsoft 365 support, and strategic IT consulting.

What it means for MVP’s clients

Third-party risk is a bigger piece of the cybersecurity picture than it used to be. Customers, insurers, regulators, and other stakeholders increasingly ask businesses what they’ve done to vet the vendors they depend on. Technology providers tend to get the most scrutiny, given the level of access and responsibility they hold inside a client’s environment.

MVP’s SOC 2 Type II completion gives clients independent, third-party evidence that the company’s own operations are in order. It also helps clients show they take vendor security seriously as part of their broader risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity efforts.

MVP has served businesses throughout Buffalo and Western New York for more than 25 years. Completing the SOC 2 Type II examination builds on that track record — and on the company’s focus on continually improving how it protects and supports clients.

An ongoing commitment

Technology keeps moving fast. Cloud, AI, remote work, and more interconnected systems are all part of doing business now, and threats and compliance expectations move right along with them.

MVP sees SOC 2 Type II as a floor, not a ceiling. The company plans to keep investing in the processes, controls, technology, and internal accountability needed to maintain strong security practices as risks evolve.

“Trust has to be earned,” Massabini said. “Our clients hand us technology that’s critical to their businesses. We don’t take that responsibility lightly, and SOC 2 Type II is one more way we earn and keep their trust.”
